Friday night May 7, 2010 Deep Delta Bowfishing had Neil Wilson's group of 12 for a night of bowfishing.

The wind was kicking butt from the southeast and had the water on the dirty side. We did find clear water when we crossed 7 foot towards no man's land. They had a ton of sheepshead over their but the customers were only after reds. We picked up a couple then made a move north and picked up a few more.

All in all it was a good trip with some great clients and we looking forward to the next one!!

Water was mainly a 5 on 1-10 scale.

April 17, 2010 Deep Delta Bowfishing had Ramone's group of 18 out. We left the port Sulphur launch around 7:45pm and all three boats headed in different directions.

The water was stained from the wind and strong tide but the redfishing was good. We managed to put about 60 fish on ice with the water clarity messed up. The guys had a blast and are coming again in late summer.

Last night April 16, 2010 we had Duke's party of four for a night of bowfishing in the Louisiana marsh.

We started off between 7 foot and freeport in all the broken marsh. The water was a little stained due to the high winds from the previous night.

The guys ended the night with 16 redfish and 7 sheepshead. They absolutely had a blast and will be back.

Wow what can I say but Awesome!!!

April 1, 2010 Deep Delta Bowfishing had two airboats out last night with Chalin's group of 5 and Ben's group of 4.

The redfish were all over the islands, we seen hundreds of fish and theses guys didn't dissapoint. Both groups put full limits on ice and we returned to the Delta marina around 11:30pm.

The wind was pumping but the water was clean the futhur out towards the gulf we got.

March 26-27 Bowfishing report!!!

Deep Delta Bowfishing had Dan's group out with Capt Eric and Capt Rodney had Amanda's group.

The friday night was awesome and Saturday night was a windy one, we had calm winds friday and pretty clean water. The redfish and sheepshead were stacked up behind Empire. We left the Delta marina and made a 10 minute ride across bay adams and fished the islands.

Dan's group only had 3 guys and they put a nice mess of reds and sheepshead in the boat.

Amanda's group of four put 18 redfish and about 10 sheepshead on ice. Now keep in mind they shot their tails off to put that in the boat.

I want to thank Amanda and her friends for the business and also thank you to Dan and friends. We hope to see you'll soon!!

Quick Bowfishing Report behind Empire!!!

Tuesday March 23, 2010 had Jerry whiley's group of 6. They are doing Bowfishing, lodging with food and rodnreel fishing.

We left the Delta marina around 8:00pm and headed south to some oyster beds. Where ever there were oysters the water was clean.

We seen a bunch of redfish, a few sheepshead and a few flounders.

The guys ended the night with 17 beautiful redfish and had an absolute ball shooting and missing the rest. That's what its all about, the fun!!

On my last report I put the date incorrect. It was the night of the 19th with Brett Taylor's party.

March 20, 2010 we had Danny Rome's group of 14 guys down for a bachelor party. They came down early to the cabins where they had boiled crawfish and drank some beer.

I reccommended not to go out bowfishing with the forcast of strong winds and rain. These guys listened and it was a great decision. The rain came down and the winds hollowed.

March 20, 2010!!!!

Deep Delta Bowfishing had the pleasure to guide Brett taylor's party of 6 and Matt's party of four.

We left the Delta marina around 8:00pm with redfish on the agenda. They were not dissapointed. Brett's group put their limits of redfish in the ice chest an even posed for a picture with a few of them.

We seen a ton of fish in the bay around bay adams and in the near by ponds.

The fishing was excellent and the water was a 7 on a scale of 1-10. There were plenty of bait fish and a huge school of Bull reds that was impressive in the shallow water.

Just giving a quick update on the bowfishing!!

This is simply a fishing report for the Empire area.

Fished last night March 18, 2010 with Matt Peck's party of 6. We left the Delta marina about 8:00pm and headed out to the edges of bay adams where the water was fairly clean and the redfish were all over. We seen hundreds of fish with some sheepshead and drum mixed in occassionaly. We shot a mixture of fish and everyone enjoyed themselves. Looks like spring is here and the great fishing is also here.

We need help fellow bowfisherman!!!

While the Obama administration is testing the waters in an effort to reduce our fishing rights, those rights are being challenged directly in louisiana.

Louisiana Senator Dan Claitor has introduced a cca backed bill to ban bowfishing for redfish in louisiana. The move is a selfish one promoted by those who only want redfishing done by rod n reel. Fishing rights being replaced by unnecessary fishing restrictions.

There is no evidence or science that Bowfishing has any negative effect on our state's Redfish population. In fact, its impact is far less than those fishing with rod and reel.

When asked, CCA executive director David Cresson claimed the move was an effort to give Redfish "Gamefish" status.  Gamefish defined by most legislators is one that cannot be commercially sold.  Bowfishing in no way threatens "Gamefish" status.

In fact, the state of Louisiana enjoys an economic advantage as not only having an extremely healthy population of Redfish, but as one of the few states that allows the taking of Reds by bows and arrow.  That freedom has created a significant guide business and revenue to the state.

These bowfishing guide business have invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in specialized boats and equipment.  A whimsical change in the law now will put many of these business owners in bankruptcy.

I encourage you and anyone else who enjoys the freedoms we are giving to enjoy this state's great resources to voice your opposition to this bill to your legislators.

January 31, 2010 Bowfishing report by Deep Delta.

We had Mark's family and friends out with 2 boats. They had a total of nine bowfisherman and they shot their limits of 45 redfish. We worked the 7-foot canal area with low rising water.It murky but doable.

These guys had a blast and will be back for some combo hunting and fishing at the end of this year.

Deep Delta Rod and reel fishing trip!!!

Left out the Port Sulphur boat club yesterday December 28, 2009 with Eric and myself to do a little redfishing. With the low cold water I knew the trout would be tuff so we went for the reds.

We made a short run to Bay Laneaux and before you know it we were on some good redfish!! We caught about 15 redfish in less than 2 hours with most going 16-17 inches and a few in the 23 in range. I did catch one big bull!! We caught most fish on swimming mullet and chicken on chain.

We kept a few for the grill and released the rest to fight another day.

Left out Port Sulphur boat club on Monday morning around 9:45am with Dave and myself for a little rod n reel trip. The water was extremely low, but very clean. We left the launch with caution and eased our way out to Bay Laneaux.

First stop we tried for trout putting a couple in the box with Glow/chartruse and Gulp. As we were fishing the trout kept seeing wakes pushing on the bank. Eased over their with the trolling motor and Dave and I easily sight casted to schools of fish. We caught our limit of ten then just culled thru keeping the 18-24 inch fish releasing all larger and smaller. we caught about 20 redfish in all with about 7 trout and we called it a day early rather than going after the trout being I had to be in for a christmas party .

Mid day Port Sulphur fishing trip!! Left Belle Chasse around 9:30am and started heading down hwy 23 solo. Made a call to good friend Dave and told him to put his fishing cl othes on that I was pulling up in his driveway. No questions asked he was ready.

We left out the boat club and within 5 minutes we were fishing. The first stop yielded 17 nice ones then slowed. The second spot yielded 2 more and the third spot was the charm. We finished out 50 trout limit with a little catch and release.

Tried a spot on the way in for reds and put a 18inch red in the boat. Did catch 1 over 27 and a few under 16 inches. Didn't try long for the reds which this was a trout trip.

All in all a good day on the water with a good friend.

Check out the photo. Most of the trout were quality fish caught today with half caught on a cork over oyster reefs and half tight lined. Water was a 7 on a 1-10 scale with hard rising tide. All fish caught on glow and chartruse and Berkley naturals. Good luck and titelines!!!!

Foster with the beautiful Woodland Plantation and I left for a afternoon fishing trip out of Magnolia yesterday Sunday with about 2 hrs of daylight left and low rising water with very stong Northeast winds. The water was pretty clean in some area's as we were riding out to our destination.

The first stop off of the pipeline near the chenier yielded nothing while our second stop was stady action.

We anchored in a bayou where the water was starting to move back into the ponds and we found all the redfish from 15 to about 24 inches. We went to work with about 45 minutes of daylight left and steady put redfish in the boat till it got close to dark and headed in.

We kept just enough to feed a few people and released quite a bunch right at 16 inches.

What a great afternoon on the water with a good friend.

Weekend Report on bowfishing!!

We had 6 guys with some from Russia from Jason's group and 5 guys from Dr Robert Toale's group.

We ran these guys deep into the marsh of Jefferson Lake and found redfish around all the broken islands.

Jason's group were all first time bowfisher men. They had a blast slinging arrows at the reds in about 1 foot of water. The water was a 6 on a scale of 1-10 and the tide was incoming.

Check out the picture of some holding redfish. These guys were a little spoiled with our service so they didn't all want to get their hands full of fish!! That's what we call customer service!!

Deep Delta Bowfishing had three airboats out last night July 31,2009. We left the launch around ten minutes to eight and ran strait to the fishing grounds when a storm bruid right on top of us, so off we headed for the launch to wait it out. We sat there with the guys till 10:00 and the lightening finally calmed and allowed us out.

The customers were from Belle Chasse to Houston and were sure glad they waited it out.

I had 6 guys with me and we came in with 30 redfish(limits) while Capt Josh had limits as well (25) and I think Capt had 13 or so with a bunch of sheepshead.

The water in the Port Sulphur area from 7 foot to Freeport canal was all stained from the storms. The redfish were in about 8 inches of water chasing shrimp and mullet.

Deep Delta Bowfishing has been out every night this week with great catches of redfish and sheepshead. We've also had a few real big Alligator gar come in.

The water has been falling in the evening and into the night. The water clarity has been a little off. We are also shooting mainly 18-25 inch redfish which are great eating and a big challenge to hit which makes it great.

What a night!!! July 11, 2009 Deep Delta Bowfishing had Adam Smith and 14 co-workers aboard 3 airboats for a night of bowfishing.

Adam and friends are down from all over the country building the huey p long. Well these guys took a break from work to go out with us. They were not dissapointed.

We left the dock around 8:30pm and were unloading 67 redfish, around 10-15 sheepshead, and a couple of gar. These guys had a blast and are already planning another trip.

Deep Delta Bowfishing had Earl Flower's party of 5 with Capt josh.

Capt Blane had Chris's party of 5 and Capt Rodney had Terrell's party of 7.

The water behind Port Sulphur in the freeport sulphur canal area near lake grand Ecaille was fairly dirty with some cleaner area's. The tide was slowly falling and the redfish in the area we're all over.

Capt Rodney's party of 7 managed to pull out 19 reds, a few sheeps and 1 loner trout. the guys let a bunch of reds slip by. But the had a ball shooting. One guy said "this was the funnest thing I did since I was a kid!!!"

May 29, 2009 Deep Delta Bowfishing left the Port Sulphur launch with 3 airboats out. I (Capt Rodney) had Beau Oneil for their second night and it didn't take long before redfish and sheepshead were flying over the gunnels. They easily put their 30 red limit in ice. These guys come from the Orlando Fl. area to fish with us every year and we really enjoy having them.

Capt Blane had Jeff Loveless party of 5 out in the same area and these guys put 17 reds and a few sheepshead on ice as well.

Capt Josh had Max's party of four and they as well put 18 reds on ice for a fun filled night with all the shooting and fish going crazy!!

The water was falling pretty good all night and the water was pretty clean in the ponds.

Deep Delta Bowfishing had 3 airboats out last night may 28 with Capt Rodney, Josh, and Blane at the steering. We left the Port Sulphur launch around 8:30pm and off into the marsh we went. I Capt Rodney had Beau O'Neil's group of 6 on board with me. These guys fish and lodge with us every year. We started off slow for about and hour and then the light switch flipped. clean water and plenty redfish. these guys put 20reds and 3 sheepshead in the boat and we called it a night around 12:30. Will get the details on the other guys today. we will be back at it all weekend. Will keep you posted more regularly. Been slacking big time on the posting. Just a quick report since my computer shut me down.

The redfish in the bays are quite impressive. They are starting to make way in the ponds. The rats are all over, it looks like another great summer ahead.

We have been smoking the redfish most nights in less than 3 hours. You are allowed 5 redfish per licensed shooter so come have a blast. We shoot redfish, sheepshead, Black drum, Flounder and alligator gar.

Two day report....Novenber 28 and 29 Capt Josh and 1st mate Blane left the launch behind Port Sulphur with low and rising water. The redfish were stacked up in the inner bays...Tony and his guest of three easily put their limits on ice in about 2 hours. We didn't have two move down the shoreline more than about 500 yards to shoot them fish.

Thursday they seen well over 400 fish..it was just awesome. When you catch the right weather/wind with the right tide it equals fish galore..What a sight. This trip is great for young and old...women are men. Come and enjoy!!

Started out the weekend Friday cancelling our customers bowfishing trips because of high water and plenty of wind. Off to venice we went for a blowout weekend. Capt Josh, Dorea, Aaron, and myself met up with some friends staying on tide water road and had a blast telling stories and having more than enough adult beverages. Saturday we made it to our blind to find other guys set up around us so needless to say we didn't stay long and back to the camp we went. The 30 minutes we were there we did manage to knock down and retrieve a few teal. We had other blinds in the area do really well with early limits.

Bowfished last night with Tripp and 5 of his family and friends. The night was awesome. The winds layed down and we were able to work the shoreline of some nice ponds off Texas bayou. We were out their about 3 hours and put their 30 redfish limit on ice. Very nice reds ranging from 17 to 25 inches. These guys had a blast and said they will definately be back real soon.

Last night August 26 we had Dominick's party for a night of bowfishing. We ran to Bay Adams and fished the northern side finding plenty of redfish between 17-25 inches for the taken.

These guys put their limits in the boat by 11:45pm and we made the run back to Port Sulphur. The bowfishing has been outstanding. Not so good weather has still been producing limits and good weather has been producing early limits!!

August 25 we had Mike with DD Meat from bogulusa and his party of 12. These guys split up into two boats with us and off into the marsh. It didn't take us long and about 11:00pm Capt Rodney was heading in with a 6 person limit on ice. Capt josh had all new guys and they put a good box together also.

Bowfishing at its finest!! We have been fishing 6 nights a week with most nights coming in with limits of reds!!

What does a captain do on his birthday? Fish!! Bowfish!! I ran July 26 leaving the dock at 8:30 and was back at 10:30 with 30 redfish!! The redfish were running between Lake washington and Lake grand ecaille. Just pick the lee shore and work it.

The last couple of night were the kind of nights you wish for every night. Fish everywhere!! Last night same thing done at 12:00 with 20 reds and 5 sheepshead to boot.

This week has been outstanding with low water in the afternoons and a ton of fish in the mouth of all the trenasses.

We have been real busy running bowfishing charter's every night. July 10 we had Doug Brown and 15 employee's from Greystar. They were down on business and had a great dinner and bowfihing trip with us. They shot 90 fish and were extremely happy.

July 11 We had Barry Campo's party of 6 and Rodney Meyer's party of 5. Rodney's group limited out with 25 reds and Barry's group shot 23 reds with a ton of sheepshead. Another happy group.

July 12 We had Jeffrey Whitney party of 6 and Mark Culver party of 6. These guys stayed overnight and had dinner at the beautiful Woodland's Plantation. The fish is the same story. Limits of redfish for everyone and near limits on the 2nd boat.

July 13,Friday night was no jinx for the "Disaster Team" Bobby and 12 of his family,friends, and worker's. They shot 58 redfish and about 10 sheepshead. We came to a school of reds off the Freeport canal that probaly had about 100 reds down a very small shoreline. It was awesome!!!

As you can see the fishing has been awesome so book your trip today. Plan in advance if possible we are booking all our boats fast!!

July 1, 2007 Sunday night was flat out awesome!! The redfish were running all around the boat and our customers had a blast putting 20 reds in the boat by 10:30pm.

Awesome June 20 and 21 bowfishing report!!!

Tommy with Marine Technical Surveyors and 11 guys had a ball bowfishing with us out of Jefferson Lake on Hwy 23. These guys had two boats out and put 43 redfish and a mess of sheepshead on ice including one nice gar.

Josh's party of four bowfished last night with us and put 18 or 19 redfish on ice by midnight along with about 6 sheepshead. The reds were running all in the shallows and these guys slung some arrows!!!

This past week has been outstanding for the redfish in the ponds. We had two boats out all weekend and one on Sunday. Sunday was a little slower with 20 reds hitting the ice by 12:30. Friday and Saturday we left the launch around 7:45pm and were back before 11:00pm. The redfish were everywhere, in matter of fact we actually tried to leave them and go looking for drum and sheepshead. That didm't happen because evrywhere we slowed down redfish were in frenzy's. It was good to see this and hopefully it will last a while!!

BOWFISHING REPORT MAY 31, 2007 Hit the launch around 7:45pm with Jason the owner of Metal Depot and four of his friends and family.

The action was fast with redfish running around the boat then the tide fell and around 10:00pm the action gat fast and furious. Redfish were running on both sides the boat ranging from 3lb to about 15lbs. The guys shot to they reached their limit of 25 around 11:45pm.

Here's a much needed bowfishing report of this past week. Each night was about the same.

The bowfishing is awesome right now. We have been fishing the Bay Adams area with great success. The tide is falling at night and the redfish are going crazy in the ponds not to mention the sheepshead are all over right now.

We have been running groups of four to twelve people a night with limits or near limits hitting the ice chest.

When the winds are not to bad the water has been descent in clarity and the fish have been stacked up. We have been fishing Empire area and really doing good with the redfish and sheepshead along with some flounders. We been averaging limits are close to limits in about 4 hours.

ACTION, ACTION, The bowfishing is on fire!! We haven't been posting much but we sure have been shooting and catching.

We have been out at least 4 days a week and have been slamming the reds. Most of our fish are coming from the Empire area in about 10 inches of water over the oyster beds. Some nights we are actually back at the dock before 10:30pm. The bowfishing is awesome right now so give me a call.

My computer is in the shop so we will try to come here to the library every couple of days to keep you posted.

February 20 and 21st was two awesome nights of bowfishing for Cliff's party of five from New York.

They made the long haul down to do some unbelievable bowfishing!! They shot their limit of 25 both nights with the last night finishing their limit before 9:30pm. Now thats awesome!!

These guys not only shot their limit of reds but also shot a couple of black drum with one about 35lbs and about 8 sheepshead. They went home with a load of fish filets to feast on till next time.

February 8, 2007 was a great night of bowfishing. We had Ricky Thomas and his group of six. The tide was low and falling. The water was pretty clean considering how low. The fish were everywhere down Grand Bayou towards the Gulf in Empire.

These guys shot till it hurt!! they put a 120qt icechest full of redfish with no ice.

December 19, 2006 was another great night!! This seems like the same report everyday but it's true, the redfish, drum and sheepshead are all over.

Mike and his crew were back for the third week to use our guide service to put them on fish. It didn't take long to see reds and sheepshead running in about 10 inches of water. We were back at the dock with full limits in less than three hours.
